Yesterday evening in Los Angeles, Time Magazine held a gala event announcing the 12 most influential women in the world, 2024. We are so proud that the list includes Dr. Yael Admi, the representative of the Israeli movement Women Wage Peace and Reem Hajajra, the representative of the Palestinian movement Women of the Sun.
The list also includes the director/script writer/actress Greta Gerwig who created the successful movie “Barbie”, the singer/actress Andra Day, Nadia Murad, a Yazidi human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, 2018, who was kidnapped and enslaved and succeeded in fleeing from captivity, and other influential women in sports, science, economics, business and culture.
We are proud of our movement and of the Palestinian movement Women of the Sun who were chosen because of their joint struggle before the war and even more so after the war, to stop the terrible cycle of bloodshed which is the result of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and for the joint Mothers’ Call of both movements for a future of peace, freedom, equality, human rights and security for our children by reaching a political agreement to end the conflict.
