Yael Admi, WWP’s co-founders and the movement’s chairperson, participated last December in a prestigious conference called The Hague Conference for Women and Peace together with Women of the Sun founder and director, Reem Alhajajreh.
With women from other war zones worldwide, the delegates convened at the Hague Peace Palace on International Human Rights Day to share their ideas and actions for peace in their regions. This conference which has now been in existence for 110 years, does not let the question, What if women ruled the world? remain a rhetorical one but rather normalizes it, as the statement of a viable goal. Receiving a standing ovation, Dr. Yael Admi said on the podium of the conference: “Our Mothers’ Call has enabled us to continue working in partnership even in the terrible days of the brutal war over the past two years. Out of this terrible pain, we continue to work with even greater effort and dedication because in these terrible times when we all understand the true cost of war, peace is most needed!” watch her speech here
During the conference, the delegates also had the opportunity to talk to the local and international media, read article in the Guardian here
