The past two years have been among the most painful and difficult in Israel’s history – years of war, devastating loss, and deepening polarization. The horrific events of October 7th, the ongoing trauma of both Israelis and Palestinians, the immense suffering in Gaza, and the rise in antisemitism worldwide have left countless people grieving, fearful, and yearning for a different future. And yet, even in the darkest moments, we refused to be silent. We stood every single day alongside the families of the hostages – from the beginning of the war, and still today – until every last hostage comes home. We joined initiatives calling for a ceasefire and a political horizon; co-led coalitions of Israeli peace and women’s groups, advancing joint actions and public initiatives; deepened our partnership with our Palestinian sisters in Women of the Sun; and consistently raised a clear voice – in the media, on social platforms, and in the streets – calling for a negotiated deal to end the war and a long-term political agreement. Again and again, we chose to act out of hope, not fear. |
Now, as voices for peace begin to emerge across the region, this is our moment – to raise the voice of peace louder than ever. Not just to survive this war, but to shape a different future: a future of peace, safety, freedom, and dignity for ourselves, our children, and generations to come. That’s why we’ve launched our annual crowdfunding campaign – to keep moving forward, especially now. In the year ahead, we will expand our presence in the public sphere and media, train new women leaders, care for and support our thousands of volunteers, deepen our partnership with our Palestinian sisters in Women of the Sun, strengthen Jewish-Arab cooperation within Israel, reach out to women leaders across the region, engage policymakers and diplomats, and continue preparing strategically for the day after the war – with the leadership and vision needed to help shape a future of peace, security, freedom, and equality.
