It was an honor to be invited to the panel organized by The Bled Strategic Forum and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Mrs. Tanja Fajon on Women’s International Day.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our “Mother’s Call” for peace, liberty and security for both Israeli and Palestinian people.
One of WWP representatives, Enam Farah Odeh wrote:
We received an invitation from the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bled Center to visit their country and participate in an academic political conference, which took place on March 8, 2024.
Where we met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Ms. Tanja Fajon, followed by a press conference and discussion with journalists. Then we moved on to meet the President of the National Assembly, Ms. Urska, and we were hosted for lunch by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Renata. We also met with the Minister of State for International Affairs and National and International Security of the Republic, and the meetings were concluded by the President of the Republic Mrs. Natasha.
In the evening, we participated in a round table entitled “Women in Pursuit of Peace in the Middle East”
My friend Manuela and I participated on behalf of “Women Wage Peace”.
Among the guests was Reem Hajajara, a Palestinian from the Dehisha refugee camp. Reem won a few days ago the title of one of the most influential women in the world – Women of the Year by the American “Time” magazine.
Reem participated with us in order to make the Palestinian voice heard and the suffering they live with every day. She demands that the countries of the world be fair and not side with one nation at the expense of the other. Reem as a mother wants freedom and to live with dignity for herself and her children, just as we, as Israeli mothers, call for a better future for our children by finding a political solution and taking steps to resolve the bloody conflict and end the war.
