Women Wage Peace

WWP reaction to the Nation State law

The Nation State Law was passed in the Knesset.
As a movement with both Jewish and Arab , religious and secular women from the full political spectrum; as a movement that seeks for what is common and joins people together; as a movement that demands a better future – we hope for days of sharing, friendship, equality and peace for all Israeli citizens.
We call on our leaders to base their work on the Declaration of Independence of the state of Israel which clearly states:”
“THE STATE OF ISRAEL will be open for Jewish immigration and for the Ingathering of the Exiles; it will foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its inhabitants; it will be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.”
We will continue to work together, in Hebrew and in Arabic; to march, to act, to wage peace until peace comes. This is our obligation and our responsibility.
