The event is co-hosted by the Inclusive Peace & Transition Initiative, JCALL Switzerland, Women Wage Peace, the Alliance for Middle East Peace and B8 of Hope. It be will held in English.

In October 2016, a small group of Israeli women set off on a 200-kilometer march from the Lebanese border to Jerusalem, in order to demand that Israeli and Palestinian leaders take steps to reach a political agreement. They were soon joined by thousands of Israeli and Palestinian women. This march represented the biggest Israeli-Palestinian peace event of the past few years, offering a glimpse of hope in a region where many have grown deeply sceptical about the possibility of peace. Can women revive the Israeli-Palestinian peace process? History has shown that women have played an important role in exerting pressure on conflict parties and pushing for agreements to be signed. This event will explore the origins, tactics and impact of this emerging movement of women. It will also take a comparative perspective by drawing upon other international experiences of women’s mobilization, from Liberia to Northern Ireland.
