The day after Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave his war- and fear-mongering speech before the United States Congress, thousands of women descended on Jerusalem, demanding an end to Israel’s militarized state.
“We want to bring peace,” Lily Weisberger, one of the women who helped coordinate the March 4 peace rally, told the Jerusalem Post. “We are tired of war; we are tired of despair.”
Thousands of women, described as “young and old, religious and secular, Arab and Jewish” gathered together on March 4, waving placards and calling for a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Women on both sides of the fence want an end to the militarization of children.
