Not a win-win situation for all sides.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The good Friday agreement in Ireland \u2013 win- win situation <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Humiliation is terrorism!!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People make choices in a geographical context. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why leaders choose political violence?! -Politicians have a short-term vision. What we should aspire towards is: <\/span><b>long term legacy society agreement.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The challenges of the Good Friday Agreement:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prisoners release<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reform the police<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Decommission of weapons<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Social peace process means:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Telling the truth and reconciliation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New forms of memory work<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Words are really important<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Words of healing<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(words, not machines, that created Auschwitz)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are 3 ways to resolve a conflict:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Genocide \u2013 annihilation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Random victims, on occasion <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peace making and negotiation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stopping the cycle of violence have passed from generation to generation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What women are bringing to the table?!<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being the voice of sanity, in different situations, in various places and locations in the public space. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peace processes are definitely more just, when women are present. This have been proven academically. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While men fighters sit and negotiate, they are aiming for a military solution, women bring true care for society on issues like health, education and people. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women create a more sustainable peace solution. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Life is a series of 100 chances, you only need to take one. \u00a0(Under the Tuscan Sun)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The three biggest conflicts of the 20iest century are:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Northern Ireland<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South Africa<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Israel \u2013 Palestine<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are living in the most unstable region in the world. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only way to find out if we have a partner, is to engage with the partner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take risks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have uncomfortable conversations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Ireland, women were the social glue, that kept the society together (before the end of the conflict). The women coalition had softened the right-hand politicians and brought compassion, which was absolutely crucial. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The hunger strikes of 1981, as part of the military struggle, led to the realization for the need to move towards political agreement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Always remember: dehumanization leads to Genocide.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Seeing the totality of life which isn\u2019t about national identity. There is no secured solution to our conflict, but the totality of life is beyond that. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The role of mediators in negotiation: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We cannot resolve it on our own, therefore, there os a need for a third party to be involved. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Forgiveness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a painful process.
