A resident of the Northern town Ma\u2019alot-Tarshiha, married and a<br \/>mother of four, she was born in Morocco to a family of ten children who<br \/>immigrated to Israel when Shula was 10 years old. Shula holds a BA in education<br \/>and general literature and an MA in public policy, both from the Tel Aviv<br \/>University.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11569 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.womenwagepeace.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Shula3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Following her studies, she returned to her hometown to \u201ccontribute\u201d, as she puts<br \/>it. Shula has served for 25 years in various public positions of education,<br \/>management and supervision. Today she works at a technological-educational<br \/>start-up. She has previously run in the municipal elections in her hometown, with<br \/>a \u201cwomen and young people list\u201d she established herself. Recently she created<br \/>and produced the movie \u201cShreds of the class of 1965\u201d premiered this month at<br \/>the Galil Festival in Ma&amp;#39;a lot-Tarshiha.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Shula defines herself as proactive. She identifies problems in society and<br \/>encourages others to work alongside her. The fear of losing democracy, she<br \/>says, turned her from a passive citizen into an activist. Out of this fear she led<br \/>protest actions on bridges and organized a march of 500 people to Jerusalem in<br \/>2020\/1.\u00a0<br \/><img class=\"wp-image-11568 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.womenwagepeace.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Shula2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"287\" height=\"196\" \/>Shula identifies herself with the messages of WWP that call for a different way:<br \/>no to war, no to more military operations and violence, yes to political<br \/>alternatives, negotiations, political agreement and peace. Her first action with<br \/>WWP was the fundraising campaign in 2021. \u201cMy target was to raise $500, and I<br \/>raised $8000, all from women who are not members of the movement. Here I<br \/>identified our chance to have many more women join WWP.\u201d Together with other<br \/>WWP activists she organized the opening ceremony of the 2022 Journey to<br \/>Peace in Acre (reported in our last newsletter ).<br \/>http:\/\/messages.responder.co.il\/7022411<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img class=\" wp-image-11567 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.womenwagepeace.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Shula.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.womenwagepeace.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Shula.jpg 336w, https:\/\/www.womenwagepeace.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Shula-250x350.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 298px) 100vw, 298px\" \/>Shula brings an out-of-the-box fresh and innovative way of thinking with a<br \/>plethora of ideas. The results of the elections held this month encourage her to<br \/>take advantage of the situation: &amp;quot;We must not feel small and inferior,&amp;quot; she says,<br \/>&amp;quot;On the contrary, we must act with all our strength, everywhere &#8211; in the streets<br \/>and the squares, the neighborhoods, and of course, in the Knesset.&amp;quot; Shula<br \/>begins this close to home, both by reawakening the local WWP group in Ma&amp;#39;alot-<br \/>Tarshiha, and recruiting new members.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shula Bohbot joined WWP a year ago, and her involvement is already verysignificant.
