“How many people wake up in the morning and think: What can I do today in order to prevent a war?” This is the question that Eran Etzioni, former Deputy Head of the of the National Security Council, asked at the Conference at the Knesset on the bill proposed by Women Wage Peace “Political Alternatives First”.
Knesset member Emilie Moattie organized the conference and took upon herself to present the bill in the Knesset. Knesset member Mossi Raz stated that the existing law today in Israel makes it easy to start a war but difficult to work towards peace. This must change.
In a room full of Knesset members, experts and members of WWP, Orna Shimoni, a member of WWP and one of the leaders of the movement 4 Mothers, asked for the support of all parties in support of the bill. Attorney Batya Cahane Dror added that this bill demands supports from the full political spectrum.
